Penn State Lehigh Valley put together a dominant performance Wednesday night, rolling to a 3?0 sweep over Penn State Scranton (25/13, 25/12, 25/18).
From the opening serve, Lehigh Valley controlled the pace of play, attacking efficiently and capitalizing on Scranton errors to grab an early advantage. Behind 12 kills in the first set, Lehigh Valley built a comfortable lead and never looked back, cruising to a 25/13 win.
The momentum carried into the second frame, where Lehigh Valley?s defense forced Scranton into a negative hitting percentage (-.182). Scranton struggled to string together points while Lehigh Valley pulled away for a convincing 25/12 result.
Scranton showed resilience in the third set, battling to keep the score closer and tallying 18 points ? their highest output of the night. But Lehigh Valley?s balanced attack and steady execution at the net sealed the sweep with a 25/18 finish.
The victory highlights Lehigh Valley?s consistency on both sides of the ball, while Scranton will look to regroup and find more rhythm offensively as the season continues.
With the first win of the season PSULV is looking forward to taking this momentum to their next match on Saturday (9/13) in a tri-match at Raritan Valley Community College.
