CORONA, NY (Nov. 18, 2016) - The Penn State Lehigh Valley opened their 2016-2017 season with a blow out win, 97-35, in New York on Friday evening.
Lehigh Valley came out of the gates on fire taking a commanding 21-8 first quarter lead and a 53-24 halftime lead. Lehigh Valley would match the scoring intensity in the 2nd half and take the victory from host Vaughn.
Three players for Lehigh Valley recorded double-doubles, freshman Ebony Sanders led the way with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Sophomore Gia Erie scored 21 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Ashley Gordon chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Juniors, Hannah Bankes and Andrea Watkins, both contributed 15 points a piece.
