Penn State Lehigh Valley battled tough on the road Wednesday night but ultimately came up short, dropping a 75–62 decision to Neumann University at The Mirenda Center. Despite several strong individual performances, the Lions were unable to overcome Neumann’s balanced scoring and dominance on the glass.
Strong Start, Tough Second Half
Lehigh Valley opened the game with energy, trading baskets throughout a highly competitive first half. The Lions headed to the locker room trailing just 30–29 after 20 minutes, showing discipline on defense and steady perimeter shooting.
However, Neumann responded with a decisive second-half surge, outscoring the Lions 45–33 behind efficient interior play and timely scoring from multiple contributors.
Kyle John Leads the Charge
Sophomore guard Kyle John delivered a standout performance, pacing the Lions with 20 points on 7–for-20 shooting, including two made threes. He added 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal, serving as the team’s primary offensive engine throughout the night.
Kenyí and Santos Provide Key Support
Freshman forward Emmanuel Kenyí showcased his versatility with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals, attacking the rim consistently and keeping Lehigh Valley within reach early.
Senior CJ Santos contributed one of his most complete outings of the season, finishing with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. His effort on the boards and defensive pressure helped the Lions stay competitive against Neumann’s size.
Defensive Highlights and Hustle Plays
Lehigh Valley forced Neumann into 14 turnovers, converting several into transition opportunities. The Lions also tallied 7 steals and 4 blocks, demonstrating an active defensive approach.
However, Neumann’s size advantage proved difficult to counter. The Knights outrebounded the Lions 54–37, including 23 offensive rebounds that created numerous second-chance points.
Neumann’s Late Push
Neumann was led by a balanced attack, including a 30-point performance from DJ Earl and 21 points from Donte Dupriest. Their second-half effort and dominance on the boards led to an effective scoring burst extended the lead into double digits, and Lehigh Valley was unable to close the gap despite several late runs.

With the loss, Penn State Lehigh Valley falls to 3-4 on the season.
