Lehigh Valley, Pa. — November 22, 2025
Penn State Lehigh Valley protected its home court on Saturday afternoon, outlasting Penn State DuBois 78–73 in a tightly contested PSUAC matchup at Lees Hall. The victory moves Lehigh Valley to 3–3 (1–1 PSUAC) on the season.
Lehigh Valley delivered a complete team performance, highlighted by five players scoring in double figures and a decisive advantage on the glass that helped them control the game down the stretch.
Balanced Offense Fuels the Win
Freshman guard Manny Polanco led the Lions with 17 points, attacking the rim consistently while knocking down three shots from beyond the arc.
Forward CJ Santos added 15 points and was a dominant presence inside, pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds, giving him a double-double and setting the tone in the paint.
Freshman guard CamRon Black gave Lehigh Valley a major boost off the bench, scoring 13 points in 20 high-energy minutes, including several key buckets that stopped DuBois runs.
Starting Freshman guard Emmanuel Kenyi chipped in 11 points, while junior center Jacob Scheubel contributed 8 points, 6 rebounds, and steady interior defense.
Rebounding Makes the Difference
A clear separator in the matchup was Lehigh Valley’s work on the boards. They outrebounded DuBois 37–19, nearly doubling their opponent’s total. That rebounding margin—especially the 11 offensive boards—created second-chance opportunities that proved crucial in a game decided by five points.
Defensive Stands in Key Moments
Despite a standout 23-point performance from DuBois reserve Nate Cornelius and 22 points from Ashton Fortson, Lehigh Valley forced timely stops in the closing minutes. The Lions’ defensive rotations improved as the game progressed, holding DuBois to just 33.3% shooting from three and limiting their second-chance looks.
Closing It Out
With the Lions holding a narrow lead late, consistent free-throw shooting—73.7% as a team—helped them maintain control. Strong ball movement and poised late-game execution sealed the 78–73 win in front of the home crowd.
Looking Ahead
Penn State Lehigh Valley looks to build momentum heading into next contest vs Neuman University as the roster continues to find rhythm with contributions coming from both the starting lineup and the bench.
