Penn State Lehigh Valley battled to the final horn on Saturday afternoon but came up just short in a 67–62 road loss to Penn State Mont Alto.
The contest was tight throughout, with Mont Alto holding a slim 29–26 advantage at halftime. Lehigh Valley stayed within striking distance in the second half, but timely free throws and defensive stops down the stretch helped the hosts secure the five-point win.
Emmanuel Kenyi led the way for Penn State Lehigh Valley, scoring 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting while pulling down seven rebounds in 36 minutes. CJ Santos also added 15 points and six rebounds, finishing efficiently at the rim and converting three free throws.
Kyle John chipped in 13 points and six rebounds, while CamRon Black provided a spark off the bench with 14 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in 29 minutes of action.
As a team, Lehigh Valley shot 46.3 percent from the field but struggled from long range, connecting on just 2-of-13 attempts from beyond the arc. The Lions did, however, take care of the ball and showed toughness on the glass, outrebounding Mont Alto 35–27.
Despite the loss, Lehigh Valley showed resilience and balance, with multiple players stepping up in key moments. The Lions will look to build on that effort as they continue conference play.
