Lehigh Valley student athletes recognized for achievement

Penn State Lehigh Valley student athletes that participated in the spring 2015 season demonstrated success not just on the court, but also in the classroom. Nine spring athletes received Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Academic All-Conference status. Students must achieve an individual GPA of 3.0 or higher to receive this recognition.

Academic All-Conference Student Athletes for spring 2015:

Men’s Basketball: Jordan Young of Bethlehem, Tyler Krchnavi of Quakertown, Ed Sanchez of Allentown, Ed Hudak of Bethlehem and Kenny Leger of Bethlehem.

Women’s Basketball: Ashley Gordon of Bethlehem, Ashley Husser of Bethlehem, Andrea Watkins of Emmaus, Brooke Mellinger of Whitehall.

"These student athletes showed dedication to their teams and their studies," said Rich Fatzinger, athletic director at Penn State Lehigh Valley. "We are proud of them for achieving this accomplishment."

Both men’s and women’s basketball teams had a history making 2014-2015 season.  The men’s team advanced to the PSUAC championship tournament for the first time in their short history, and the women’s team advanced to the PSUAC playoffs and received their first-ever bid to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association’s (USCAA) Basketball National Championship tournament.
